Magnetic Fields - Jean-Michel Jarre

Magnetic Fields, Jarre's third album sees the electronic pioneer steer his spacecraft in a slightly more mechanical and less organic direction after two desert island electronic records. As he is so fond of doing, the album is split into a five piece suite, with Magnetic Fields 1 consuming the whole A side of the original vinyl issue. This first track has three distinct sections to it which reiterated Jarre's intention to create another diverse and ever progressing album of music. Good old Maggie Fields (as I am wont to call it)! It's as good today as it was when it was written. It's different enough from his other albums to stand out, Magnetic Fields was Jarres 3rd major album released in May of 1981 (following the sucess of Oxygene & Equinoxe) but was actually his 5th official album release (as most people who aren't diehard fans are completely unaware of Deserted Palaces from 1972 & Les Granges Brûlées which was a film soundtrack featuring Alain Delon from 1973).
