Mahala Rai Banda - Mahala Rai Banda

Mahala Rai Banda are a Romanian gypsy band made up of former military men and were discovered playing in a restaurant, much of the band is from Clejani, a small town in the plains south of Bucharest near the Bulgarian border, amazingly the birth place of the band Taraf de Haidouks as well (it only has a population of 3000), in fact the violinist and musical directors are indeed relatives of the band. Mahala Rai Banda are probably the most similar band to Taraf de Haidouks, each song on this album which was released in 2005, is an upbeat piece of fun.
