Angie Stone is an amazingly talented vocalist. Her music sends out chillin vibes, and you almost feel like you are apart of her thoughts and feelings. I know i can personally relate to her music, and theres definately a bit of something in this album for everyone. Definately one for chillin or making love too. If you love nothing more than relaxin to some good sexy soul music then this is for you. If you liked her last album, you will love this. Its a mix of R&B and soul, with a little mix of Angies magic. An stunning album......... ... Read the complete review

Mahogany Soul is the follow up to 1999's Black Diamond with which Stone received much critical acclaim for her grown-up R'n'B style. With such a mature vibe, it may not surprise you to learn that she has been around for quite a while now - Stone is actually the veteran singer/songwriter who made up one-third of rap act Sequence, fronted acid-jazz band Vertical Hold, and also played a part in D'Angelo's Brown Sugar. It's a wonder she finds time to step out on her own! But, once again, Stone has teamed up with a gang of like-minded individuals ? such as producers Raphael Saadiq and Andrea Martin. The result is a collection of velvety ... Read the complete review

...some of the lyrics of Angie Stone's 'Mahogany Soul' might push a few buttons. She tells teenagers who feel like committing suicide over their young love affairs that they are 'stupid', perhaps not the best advice to such delicate souls, whilst she also proclaims that to all black brothas 'behind bars, you know that Angie loves ya'. She tells people who haven't got soul in their music to get out of the music scene totally - (Too many of y'all riding in the same boat, gettin' too heavy and the boat can't float) - and whinges about men who are always annoyed with life - (Nigga you so ticked off, can't let up long enough to ... Products similar to Mahogany Soul - Angie Stone
Versus The World - Amon Amarth
Great drums and maintenance of the longboat sound.
Songs blur together and lack the energy of earlier releases.
Temple Of Shadows - Angra
Well-plotted progressive power metal classic.
Deviates from its power metal base significantly by the end.
Past & Future Secret - Blind Guardian
Nicely captures Blind Guardian's lighter side without being completely dishonest.
Final song is a wasted opportunity.
Nordland Vol.1 - Bathory
Excellent return to the Viking metal style, sorting out some of its inherent problems.
Songs tend to over-run, and heavier songs seem rather impersonal.
Nordland Vol.2 - Bathory
Final masterpiece of unrelenting Viking metal, less showy and more atmospheric.
Some songs are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
Night At The Opera - Blind Guardian
Prog fans will be happy, and some songs make good use of the new sound.
Disappointing change of style resulting in a difficult album to listen to, with few stand-out moment
Forgotten Tales - Blind Guardian
Some great covers and the band's fine acoustic work reproduced.
Some less great covers, and overall an unbalanced perspective on the band.
Aurora Consurgens - Angra
Continues right where 'Temple of Shadows' left off, with the same progressive elements.
Over-reliance on slow, emotional numbers that don't really work, and sound badly dated.
Alternative 4 - Anathema
Pleasant mix of doom and atmospheric rock without straying too far from Anathema's roots.
Central songs lack individuality, and the whole thing may be too dull for some.
A Twist In The Myth - Blind Guardian
Blind Guardian aren't completely written off yet, and the album may attract new fans.
Folk tendencies now work to its disadvantage, as do the other traits left over from the last release
