has a beautiful distinctive voice that is a dream to listen to. I can immediately tell who it is when her voice comes on my ipod. Who is Kate Rusby? Kate is a 33 year old woman originally from Sheffied. She has had a long and successful career (15 years), even if she is not all that well known commercially. Her love is traditional songs and this clearly comes through on her album. What i think: All her songs tell a story which not only makes the album a joy to listen to but interesting at the same time. She is a true northern lass, which im sure is another reason why i love her so much. I d not heard of her before i bought this record, but since then ive learned she ...

was one of the best albums of the year, as far as I was concerned. For those who are not familiar with the genre of British modern folk, K Kate Rusby is probably a good place to start, her material is nearly always acoustic, providing a soft platform for her voice to launch from, and it is her voice that is the jewel in her crown, as it well should be. 1. "as I was a-walkin" Game of all fours is no exception, sung from the point of view of a young man taking his daily stroll who happens along a pretty and fairly brazen young lady who challenges him to a ...

It was through this album that I discovered K Kate Rusby - I was given it as a present, and as soon as I have the money I intend to go out and get something else by her. Anything. Her style of singing and the songs that she has written and arranged are simply breathtaking. To see her, you wouldn t expect her voice to be so sweet and pure, but it is a lovely style to listen to. Kate Rusby uses a lot of traditional songs in her repotoire, but she makes them her own with interesting arrangements, or by using the words to a traditional song and composing her own tune. There is a perfect mix of new and trad songs in this album, and of her own songs on the album, high on a hill ...

An excellent live album, fantastic from start to finish.
The songs all sound very similar, this may put some off listening.

Very little stands out.
A few good riffs here and there, and the style doesn't wear thin until the second track.

The best elements of death metal.
All taken from other bands.
