Wow... I picked this up the other day on the recommendation of a friend who thought it'd be 'my kind of thing'. Well, it turned out that it was. It also turned out that after listening to it almost every day for two weeks, I think that it could be one of the most underrated albums of the 1990s! Marcy Playground have a very unique sound. It's mellow and even cheery sounding at points, but also somewhat unsettling and dark. The lyrics are intriguing, and are steeped in a certain whimsical childhood innocence, with simple lines reminiscent of nursery rhymes.
