I have to say that my history lessons at school were never as enjoyable as this. For that's what "Mastercuts Breaks" is - a lesson in hip-hop history, and a damned funky one to boot. The album is essentially a collection of some of the most commonly-sampled tracks in hip-hop, some which will be instantly familiar, some a little more obscure, but all fantastic tracks in their own right.
