Weakest of all the albums - but still good (Maybe You Should Drive - Barenaked Ladies)

Advantages: Full of the superb lyrics expected from the Barenaked Ladies. Tracks such as 'A' and 'Jane' make this album a must-buy.

Disadvantages: Some of the tracks such as 'Great Provider' and 'The Wrong Man Was Convicted' are not up to the usual high standard of the Ladies.

Created during a period of bad times for the band, and produced by a different person than 'Gordon' and 'Born On A Pirate Ship', 'Maybe you Should Drive' is in my opinion a weaker album than I'd usually expect from the band. Indeed, there are even tracks on here that I skip past, which is unusual for the Ladies.

However, it being the weakest album does not mean that there are no good tunes here. The excellent 'Jane' and very funny 'A' are here, as well as 'Life, In a Nutshell', one of my favourite tracks by the Ladies. This album is worth buying for these tracks alone.

The remaining tracks are, as usual, filled with superbly crafted lyrics and tunes, but there's just something missing from them that you can always find in the tracks on 'Gordon' or 'Born On A Pirate Ship'.

All in all, an excellent album in comparison with the rest of music today, but not the best that the Barenaked Ladies can offer. Look for 'Gordon' if you wish to experience the Ladies at their best.

Summary:
