Yes, I agree, he does go over the top. He dresses like a freak, and I can't help thinking he only does it for the extra attention and publicity. A worryingly large number of his fans copy him.

However, does this really matter when he manages to produce such a good album? Mechanical Animals is actually very good in a musical sense. It has a bit of everything - hard rock, melodic tracks - theres not much more you could expect.

I've not heard much of his music, apart from what's on this album, but I consider that to be enough for me. I must say I'm incredibly excited about hearing his new album, as it is apparently a mix of styles, some like those on Mechanical Animals.

I'd also like to add that everyone I've played this album to has liked it. I feel that most people avoid his music because of his outside appearance, and don't know what they're missing until it is forced onto them by a loving and caring friend ;)

Do not judge his musical ability until you buy this record. Any doubts you had will almost definately be changed.

I agree. He does it for attention, but it does not stop them making great music. I particularly like 'Rock is Dead'. Their new album is good as well.
