The album starts with what is the greatest open track i have ever witnessed to have so much energy expressed into what is a haze of sound effects mixed in with Waters's beatful flowing bass solos.Thetrack 'one of these days' is unlike any other track it is has the most raw power and energy and expresses itself uniqely. All the energy contained in this track is targeted directly to the listener,i literally could not stop nodding my head to the b...more

Crowned Review Meddle - Pink Floyd: Meddle me Away (3229 words)

Pink Floyd are best known for the best selling album of all time 'Dark Side of the Moon' and the mighty double album epic 'The Wall' and of course insane avant-garde art rock antics. They always had an eye for the bizarre and the downright artistic from the early Syd Barrat led incarnation when the Floyd where kings of the underground (or perhaps not so underground in those glorious 60s!) by Jeffbowski - written on 04.04.01 (Very useful, 214 readings)

This was pretty much the turning point for the band. The transition from an experimental band trying to find a particular style and sound. This album showed that not only had they actually shrugged off the psychedelia tag but also that they had matured. Roger Water's lyrical imagination and David Gilmour's guitar work had become distinctive, different and yet accomplished. It was a precursor to the legendary Dark Side Of The Moon and it incorporated earlier aspects of their work with what they would go on to become, a true transitional moment. One Of These Days orginal title was 'One Of These Days I'm Going To Cut You Into Little ...
