Sayuri's Theme captures the who mood of the film which portrayed the training of a country girl to be a Geisha. She missed her home and family and especially her sister who was deemed 'not beautiful enough' to become a Geisha and had been sent to work as a student. The Geisha falls in love and after a catalogue of misfortunes, they all live happily ever after.
The sound track is very emotive and if you have read the book, or seen the film it brings back quite brilliant images of the story. Anyone who do0es not know the story will enjoy this if they like romantic music with an oriental flavour.
My favourites are Sayuri's Theme and The Rooftops of Hanamachi which always paints a vivid picture in my mind.
This is an excellent soundtrack which I have enjoyed over and over. It isn't music that I could get bored with. I use it most to relax and for background music while writing.
For me, a soundtrack that paints an emotionally vivid picture of a film is exceptional and I found that this score ticked all the boxes.
Summary: Great music fro9m an excellent film
