Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective

I can't work out if these guys are merely having fun using various instruments to come up with a chaotic dance rock sound that isn't really that psychdelic but is definitely different from your average track or whether they are pretentiously trying to achieve something and failing. Either way, they do nothing for me whatsoever, the vocals border on irritating most of the time and the music seems like chaos in a child's kindergarten, it's a little bit different but I don't see it as groundbreaking and despite the general consensus that this is in fact a good album, I don't think it will be well remembered in a few years nor will it go down in history! ...  Read the complete review
