Another female-fronted gothic metal band, Darkwell at least has the integrity to not just be another female-fronted gothic metal band, at least based on their rather odd second album. Now fronted by the enchanting Stephanie Luzie (also of Atargatis), the music relies heavily on a light atmosphere, though still finds time for foregrounded keyboard ditties and an emphasis on guitars in songs such as 'Strange' and 'Hope Unborn,' though the rest could hardly be classed as metal by any stretch, however much the clicking of the drum's bass pedal struggles to convince listeners otherwise.
