Rating:
Another female-fronted gothic metal band, Darkwell at least has the integrity to not just be another female-fronted gothic metal band, at least based on their rather odd second album. Now fronted by the enchanting Stephanie Luzie (also of Atargatis), the music relies heavily on a light atmosphere, though still finds time for foregrounded keyboard ditties and an emphasis on guitars in songs such as 'Strange' and 'Hope Unborn,' though the rest could hardly be classed as metal by any stretch, however much the clicking of the drum's bass pedal struggles to convince listeners otherwise. None of these songs are particularly memorable, but they're enjoyable enough ...

Departure from the tedious electronic direction.

Maintains the annual album release pattern.
A distinct slump.
Generator - Bad Religion
The album contains a number of excellent punk rock tracks.
The first track is the best on the album and the rest pale in comparison.
For Victory - Bolt Thrower
More solid Bolt Thrower.
Nothing we haven't heard before.
Decadence - Head Automatica
Bouncy and truly exciting powerpop music, tremendous fun to listen to.
A couple of the tracks here are a little disappointing.
