Advantages: Bonus material, Consistancy
Disadvantages: Number of Tracks
Brief introduction: I considered purchasing Meteora knowing that I would be confident knowing I wouldn’t waste my money. I was confident simply because I have both Reanimation and Hybrid Theory (past albums) and have enjoyed them both very much. I had heard Somewhere I belong (1st release) before and was my song of the moment for about a week, which encouraged me to buy the album. Linking Park have a sound relating to the title of their first album, Hybrid Theory. Hybrid sums it up, as it’s a mixture of all heavy sounds in one, there is powerful vocals from the lead vocalist Chester Bennington with hard hitting drums performed by Rob Bourdon with scratching on the decks from Mike Shinoda. All these sounds form a unique mix that creates hit songs such as Somewhere I belong. The Meteora album is a big step from Reanimation and in my opinion has a lot more class. Reanimation had mostly mixes with little new material; Meteora is a lot like the original album Hybrid theory. Most of the material on Meteora gives me goose pimples when I have the sound blasting in my ear and when your focusing on images which show you in a crowd of thousands, you get some great vibes. Some criticise Linking Park saying its mindless noise, well if you knew your rock genre well you would appreciate the effort and quality that reflects it. The Meteora album has a lot of features separate from the tracks themselves, the CD I have access to has features such as “the art of Meteora” which basically is the making of/ steps that lead up to the album. It also has a website toolkit, I haven’t used this personally but I believe it gives you exclusive access to material on the Linking Park website. Here are my favourite tracks: - Braking the habit (track 9) - Numb (track 13) - Faint (track 7) - Somewhere I belong (track 3) I have no disliked tracks although you ‘ought to know that you might believe yo
u have 13 tracks when you really only have 12. This is because the first track is an intro track lasting around 10 seconds. Don’t let this put you off though. A brief outro: I would recommend the album to whoever may be interested in purchasing it, Every track I believe is consistent but I feel there is not enough tracks on the album. There is some great bonus features and is well worth the money. REMEMBER that you could pay £5 extra depending on what store you go to, look around for a while and find it cheaper. I got mine for £9.99 I could of paid £15

- 15/05/03 Hiya and welcome from me too. (my two penneth worth on CD reviews is....)
So long as you have a style/passion about the music, you'll be able to put together a half-decent review. Some do track by track (which can be good) and some do a general thing (which can also be good)
Read stuff around the site and settle into your own groove! :oD

- 15/05/03 Welcome to dooyoo. Enjoy. (I'm in the minority here, by the way, but I don't like track by track album reviews AT ALL). |

- 15/05/03 Good review. Some more info on every track on the album would've been an advantage, but overall, not bad for a first op. (I noticed you're a new member, so welcome to dooyoo!) :-)
