This is the latest album from the mastermind of Orbital, and is of an extremely high quality. There have been singles from the album but none actually were that successful (not because the tracks were bad...). The album has an excellent mix of syntesized sounds, pumping melodies, cool basslines and quirky sounds here and there! Nothing Left and Style were the singles that were released, which were worth buying as they included some great remixes.. My favourite track is actually the first one, Way Out, as it straight away pulls you into the swing of the album! The first thing that strikes you about this album is the sleeve which is completely white apart from a little bit of text in the top right hand corner which lists some of the credits and acknowledgements. The lack of details and colour actually makes it quite eye catching indeed and very easy to find in a large CD collection. The individual tracks are listed down the spine though if you are long sighted, you may have difficulty reading them. (;-) The opening track starts with an almost tribal beat that is slowly built up to include trumpet sounds overlaid with female vocals. Another fine offering by the evergreen Hartnoll brothers delivers a intoxicating blast of pure electronic music straight to the brain from the opening track 'way out->' right on to the funky beat of 'style' some 70-odd minutes later. Although not a patch on the previous collosus albums- 'In-sides' and especially 'Snivilisation', 'The Middle of Nowhere' reaches heights that other bands can only dream of.
