Advantages: Great ambience, Amazing sound, Choirs
Disadvantages: Dani's voice
This was my first metal album and I confess that I still hear it all the time due to it's melody and sheer darkness that still makes me tremble. Dani's vocals are amazing (has always) ranging through a lot of diferent tones. The classical sounds fit amazingly well with the guitar, bass and drums giving and sometimes complemented by amazing choirs that seem to take us to a hunted house or a graveyard at night. Choosing the best tracks is very hard, since they are all amazing, but my fave is saffrons curse (the third track). A somewhat calm start rises to an amazing metal discharge wich combines great vocals (male and female) with classical elements that delivers an outstanding sense of darkness. I must also refer the start of Tearing the Veil From Grace, where beautifull choirs combine with metal elements to give an great sound experience. If you are a cradle of filth fan, buy this album, if you are metal fan, buy this album, if you don't know what metal is, buy this album and if you hate metall buy this album and you will strat liking it. Track list: 1-At The Gates Of Midian 2-Cthulhu Dawn 3-Saffron's Curse 4-Death Magick for Adepts 5-Lord Abortion 6-Amor E Morte 7-Creatures That Kissed in Cold Mirrors 8-Her Ghost in The Fog 9-Satanic Mantra 10-Tearing The Veil From Grace 11-Tortured Soul Asylum

- 22/05/04 I like this album, but the only Cradle album I love (and own) is its predecessor, "Cruelty and the Beast." I prefer the line-up on that album, as well as the style. |
