Advantages: Give a good feeling inside, totally original, Massive content
Disadvantages: It has to end
In this latest album Beck has moved on from the rap-ish funk to a totally new glam-funk. Unlike his old albums which contained his wonderful hjarmonica playing and deep background vocals, we now have electronic sounds throughout the album along with Beck wonderfull high-pitched singing. The albums appears to based around sex at first glance, but when you listen to the lyrics and think about the deeper meanings behind what he sings, I soon came to the conlcusion that he is singing about the general love scene, and what a wonderful place the world could be. The images he gives accross is strong, as he talks of things in the city, in clubs, at the sea side, and many more area, giving a view of how the love of the area and the people in these areas would act. This album is truly inspired and will make anybody feel good at any time.

- 09/10/01 I guess it is rather prince-like in a more modern electronic way. |

- 07/10/01 I wanted so much to like this album, but could never really get into it. Maybe it's because it's so Prince-like, and I never could stand the purple one.. |
