Advantages: lots of tracks
Disadvantages: samey
I have always liked this group, they have not had much success over here, yet remain a force to be contended with in Belgium. Their unique brand of vocal based euro trance always manages to light up my evenings. This is one of their earlier releases.
Who are they:
Belgium based dance act, with five studio albums under their belt.
On this album:
Head for the superb 'In My Eyes' which is a beastly little dance number. A fine set of female vocals shape the song and it reaches a peak time chorus where she shrieks 'the light still shines on me' over a frantic synth riff. This gave them a big UK hit and is similar to the kind of music Ian van Dahl and Lago make.
Highlights:
Dip into 'Land Of The Living.' The vocals remain a bit mysterious yet the riff sells this one, an all out dutch synth powers through and provides a great amount of energy. It is one of those hands in the air dancefloor moments. Also check out 'Walk On Water' which is again ulitilises a strong female vocal over some feisty synths. My criticism here is that the riff needed to be stronger as it sits quite low down in the mix and the song doesn't have enough bite.
'La Vache' is an odd one, it doesn't sound like the rest of the songs, lacking vocals but comes in as a harder nosed instrumental with a nagging riff. It would work well in clubs played in a trance set and gives the album a harder edge.
Overall:
Loads of tracks on here, I counted 18. If you like eurodance then this will be right up your street. I will admit that a lot sound similar, but it is well produced and the vocals are gripping throughout.
Summary: good value
