Advantages: Brilliant tracks

Disadvantages: The tracks may seem abit sameish to some

''Mind, Body & Soul'' is the second album for the sixteen year old, accomplaished soul singer, Joss Stone. Her first album ''The Soul Sessions'' become a best seller without much promotion. ''The Soul Sessions'' ironically was orignally intended to be a promotional recording which would be used to promote a second and more original album ''Mind, Body & Soul''. But somehow after word spread over the talent and complexity and the fulfillment of soul that came about from Joss Stone's voice, it was released as an album worldwide.

''Right To Be Wrong'' is a nice soul ballad, with a poppy chorus. This is a wonderful song, wonderfullally sang. Joss Stone's voice really shows on this song.

''Jet Lag'' is an amazing track - it is very soulful and jazzy. The chrous is amazing. The backing drums fit perfectly with Joss's voice.

''You Had Me'' is a wonderful, pop track. This is the first single to be released at the back of this album. The track is extremely catchy, shows the complexity of Joss's voice. This is very poppy but there is the slighest bit of soul in this.

''Spoiled'' is incrediable. This is a soul ballad, very nicely sang. A very mellow sounding track, the song just fits perfectly with a classic soul track. The lyrics are complex. Joss Stone's voice is very gentle and extremely soulful in this.

''Dontcha Wanna Ride'' is very poppy and jazzy. Excellently song. A incrediably catchy chorus. Instantly catchy, very mellow but catchy and poppy.

''Less Is More'' is a fantastic track. This shows again lyrically that Joss Stone can write. The quality of this song is fantastic. Very nicely sang, again very soulful but slightly rockish as well.

''Security'' shows what an amazing voice, Joss has. The song is incrediable, the lyrics are very meaningful and deep and convey a nice message. Nice and mellow, great listening.

''Young At Heart'' is a very gentle ballad. This is pure soul, very in tune with the recent times of music. I like this song, the lyrics are very meaningful. Joss Stone's vocals on this song are gentle, and this therefore fits the soul genre fully.

''Snakes And Ladders'' is an incrediable soul and pop song. Very nice listening. This is a very relaxing pop song, very catchy. Joss Stone's writing skills are at show here as well as her voice.

''Understand'' is a very nice and mellow track. Very mellow and gentle sounding this a pure soul, ballad. The musical notation and numbering on this track is fantastic. Great vocals again by Joss.

''Don't Know How'' is a pop song, again slightly mixed in with some recent soulish sound. Very well written especially the chorus and verses. Brilliant listening.

''Torn And Tattered'' is a brilliant pop song again very soulful, jazzy and rockish at same time. The lyrics are amazing. Joss Stone's voice really stands out, again a very gentle and nicely in tune musical background making it perfect soul.

''Killing Time'' is an amazing ballad. The background is very gentle with loud and powerful vocals by Joss, this is brilliant.

''Sleep Like A Child'' is an amazing example of soul music. The song is very gentle with a nice and loud piano. Excellently produced this is fine listening.

''The Soul Sessions'' was for many not an instant buy, as indeed it was an album full of covers. That was the album where Joss Stone sang expectionally well, on lesser known tracks by semi-popular soul singers, and made them into the chart hits as we know them today. ''Mind, Body & Soul'' in contrast, is remarkably different - this is not an album full of covers, but is fully original, self-penned by Joss Stone and quite frankly just as good as her first album. Joss Stone's voice is just as good on this, and this is indeed an album for anyone - not only the rarest soul lover, this is pop, jazz, rock and soul at the same time. It is most defintley a instant buy, and one indeed which your CD collection should go by.
