Advantages: Brilliant Album!
Disadvantages: none
...that an album of this calibre has recieved little or no publicity in this country. Its a brilliant album, and had it had the same aplomb on release as 'Hunting High and Low'..then it would also probably spawn 3 or 4 number One singles as well. Lyrically, the writing is brilliant..if somewhat melancholy and pessimistic...but poetic, mature and ..intelligent. Morten Harkets vocals are incredible, He must surely be THE best male vocalist of his generation...and how much recognition for that does he get?? (what an utter disgrace!) The highs of the highlights of the album are ; the title track "Minor Earth, Major Sky",..."Velvet" which is just beautiful, and to be released in November as a single but NOT in this country (what an utter disgrace!). If you go to the website www.a-ha.com, she can see the video and hear the track. Also favourites of mine are "Summer Moved On.." a big ballad, released as a single in the summer, but again, recieved little or no airplay or promotion, but still managed to get to number 32 in the 'hit parade'. "The Sun Never Shone That Day" is a trademark A-ha, a pat yer thighs and sing-a-long song..brilliant..I could go on , but you'll just have to buy it for yourself!! I find it incredible that a band that has been in the music business for over 20 years, can still write and produce music of this high standard..but be so massively under-rated it is a crime..(and an utter disgrace!!). It is time A-ha recieved the recognition they deserve in this country.....Warner Music Uk..get yer finger out..!!
