Advantages: It's a realy good album <3

Disadvantages: People don't give it a chance..

To be honest I am probably really biased towards this album because of my ongoing obsession with Linkin Park but I honestly do think that people have been harsh about the album, it's mostly because they don't like change and there's definitely a different feel to this album than the previous ones, it's maybe a little less angry and it has a theme throughout (of reflecting on the past) and obviously has less rap.

The album was long awaited, Linkin Park insisting on making it the best they possibly can (which I appreciate) but I really do love the album enough to think perhaps the wait was worth it. The previous albums were of course fantastic (as people often point out) but so is 'Minutes To Midnight' in it's own way, Linkin Park have matured and some fans need to accept this, and fair enough if they prefer the 'old Linkin Park' and stop listening to them but maybe the album will also bring some new fans.

Tracks like 'No More Sorrow' and 'Given Up' are pretty similar and more heavy, with a bit of skilful screaming from Chester showing how they show their angry side very well and shows the musical talent as well with guitar and performed live often ends in impromtu riffs.

Whereas tracks like 'Shadow Of The Day' and 'In Pieces' are softer and more melodic - something you can sit and relax with.

Band members like Mikes Shinoda and Chester Bennington show their brilliant abilities to write lyrics on the album, able to keep the theme ongoing and yet each song has its own meaning and is memorable, even the lesser known songs are creditable.

Plus I enjoy the album because Linkin Park finally show their ability to have fun with 'Bleed It Out'! I for one am looking forward to their new album in 2009, I wonder if it will be similar to 'Minutes To Midnight' or show even more development, either way I am sure it will be worth listening to.

So please give the album a chance instead of trying to live in the past, you won't regret it!

x x

Summary: People should give the album a better chance because Linkin Park are really talented <3

An excellent album, a band with a new mature sound, and a nicely written review :)
