Tome VI - Ange
Talented French symphonic prog, for fans of early Genesis.
Hard for newcomers to appreciate.
The Sound Of White - Missy Higgins
Wonderful relaxing music with delightful lyrics
There isn't much variety of styles throughout the album, just fast and slow.
The Fall Of Ideals - All That Remains
Better than the other bastardised metalcore bands.
Uninspired and occasionally offensive (to a metal fan, I mean).
On A Clear Night - Missy Higgins
Peachy, 100 Round the Bends, Angela
Warm Whispers
Saltbreakers - Laura Veirs
Unusual, intelligent songs; nice combination of genres; musicianship
Sometimes annoying juvenilia style lyrics; some weak tracks
Redemption Process - Anorexia Nervosa
Standard symphonic black metal with a more melodic flair.
No songs really stand out.
Hate Malice Revenge - All Shall Perish
Mostly excellent death metal in the classic style.
Really bad metalcore passages stand out like a severed thumb.
Evermind - Amethystium
Relaxing and eclectic ambience.
Only suited for relaxation or background music, otherwise soon becomes repetitive and dull.
Between The Wars - Al Stewart
Great lyrics, really good music, smooth sound
You should really concentrate on the lyrics, familiarity with the inter-war period helps
Angels Of Venice - Angels Of Venice
Approachable and entertaining neoclassical music.
Too much reliance on obvious cover songs.
