Advantages: brilliant loud and heavy
Disadvantages: the few quieter songs
Maybe Mission Impossible 2 was not the best film in the world but it certainly has a very hard to beat soundtrack. From the opening rage of Limp Bizkit to the soft sweet tones of Tori Amos - its a soundtrack of extremes. One thing its does get over however, is the energy and action of the film and also the quieter moments. The artists featured include Metallica, Butthole Surfers (who have changed their style since I last heard them!), Foo Fighters and Godsmack to name but a few. I've never been a great fan of soundtracks as the music normally varies from stuff I love to stuff I wouldn't listen to no matter how much you paid me. However, this album has mainly my type of music on it - loud, heavy, energetic and alternative. There are a few quieter tracks which help to slow the album down and to gather itself together. My favourite is the Rob Zombie track which is absolutely fantastic and is normally on repeat on my stereo. (Check out my reviews on White Zombie which is Rob Zombies old band - fantastic!). At the end of the day a lot better than the film and I would rather recommend this than the film itself!

gemma_toots - 16.03.02 There are some great songs on here - Limp Bizkit, Metallica + Rob Zombie - but there are too many forgetable songs as well. The Butthole Surfers song is poor |
