Modern Guilt is the 2008 album by Beck Hanson and Danger Mouse of Gnarls Barkley. This is Beck's eighth studio release, and his newest. Not his best - but it got him highest in the UK charts than he has been before, as well as reaching #8 in 'Rolling stone 50 Best Albums of the Year'. The tracks in Modern guilt fuse together many styles and genres to create styles of music which I have not heard before! Definitely different to anything Beck has done before- he tends to use a different style for every album he releases, for example The Information was much more hip hop and electric with the use of a Game Boy. This album is much calmer, and has an early 70s ... Read the complete review

A Brilliant collabaration here with danger mouse from Gnarls Barkley. It contains some of his most steady work. If you are counting it as a whole album it is a marvellous piece of work. If you are counting each track individually they are all very good too. There is Gamma ray with its infectious rhythm. The beautiful orphans that will make you well up. The rock of profanity prayers. The excitement and reminder that you have heard it on a tv ad of modern guilt. The talk of conspiracy in chemitrails. All these brilliant songs put together in this order is one of his best pieces of work. Well to be honest all his work is amazing no reason to say one is better than the past ... Beck Hansen has now released so many albums that I'm beginning to lose count. Modern Guilt is his 13th but don't quote me on that. One thing is certain though, every Beck release sounds completely different from the previous one. Whereas 2006's The Information (interesting fact - it was banned from the UK charts because it contained free stickers) had an electro/hip hop feel to it, Modern Guilt pays tribute to 1960's British beat groups and in keeping with its influences the album contains only 10 songs and is rather short, clocking in at just under 35 minutes. Another notable fact about Modern Guilt is that it was produced by Danger Mouse, not the cartoon character ... Read the complete review

Fun, upbeat pop that brings back fabulous memories!
A few fillers near the end
Texas Flood - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Soulful playing, enjoyable and easy to listen to, plus it's SRV!
Minor thing with album sleeve, barely worth mentioning.
Jarvis - Jarvis Cocker
Some brilliant tracks
Not as good as Pulp
Favourite Worst Nightmare - Arctic Monkeys
Brilliant tracks, lyrically amazing
1 weak link
Enemy At The Gates - James Horner - Soundtrack
A hugely melodramatic war score of great power
But like with Horner often in the early 2000 period, not particularly original
Dignity - Hilary Duff
It is unusual and unique and there is lots of variation
It probably won't do very well as Hilary's talent gets unfairly overlooked
Crystal Visions: The Best Of Stevie Nicks - Stevie Nicks
2 Disc quality package that comes with a bonus DVD of videos, promo work and commentaries
Price changes; no present appearance of the singer; some errors on track notes
Begin To Hope - Regina Spektor
A wonderful collection of songs and sounds that are so individual and so beautiful.
None that I can think of - only that I didn't know about her sooner!
