While they are probably best remembered for the likes of "Nothing" and "Starbucks", A have been around for a lot longer than some people realise. I came across A at Reading festival in 2000 and thought they were pretty good. That was 2 years before anyone ever heard "Nothing" while Jason and the rest of the band were still scraping along as a pretty decent skater punk band. The band consists of 3 brothers from Leeds and a couple of guys they met after moving down to London. Jason, Giles and Adam give the band a real family feeling and having played together for years seem to click pretty well. This album is a follow up to the ... Read the complete review

I recently got this album, being reminded of A from the amount of attention they have received lately. I used to have a little tape with a couple of songs on, which I absolutely loved, but then forgot about, now 3 years later I have the album, and it's really good. They cover the style between punk and pop, but seem less planned and polished than bands such as The Offspring (who are good in their own way!). Here's my song-by-song guide; For Starters And the albums starts with the sounds of grasshoppers, very pleasant you think. But no wait, then in comes a whining guitar, which within a few seconds has got heavier and is accompanied by a yell welcome ... Read the complete review

It was the first time I’d seen the supporting act work the crowed better, and be more energetic, than the main act. As a result, I tried to find some of their singles. This is their latest album (Released 16-08-1999), and it's full of song's you like ... Read the complete review

‘A’ vs Monkey Kong is the second studio album from this London five-piece band released in 1999 through London Record. Their sound is a kind of punk rock with samples mixed into the music. This makes for a very original sound and it should make ‘A’ extremely big. The band consists of the following members (three of them brothers, guess who!): Jason Perry – Vocals Giles Perry – Keyboards & backing vocals Adam Perry – Drums/Yin’s Mark Chapman - Guitars Daniel P. Carter - Bass, backing vocals/shouting! King Kong inspired the album name and cover, King Kong’s original name was meant to ... Read the complete review

The orchestration elements work to magnificent effect
A couple of tracks miss the mark
In The...all Together - Skyclad
Awesome guitar playing, nice variety of styles
A lack of harps and cellos may disappoint most folk metal fans - I personally enjoyed the break!
A Girl Like Me - Rihanna
UNFAITHFUL
SELFISH GIRL
Subconscious Dissolution Into The Continuum - Esoteric
Incredibly powerful, brilliantly executed
Draining, a difficult (if ultimately rewarding) listen

Consistency of tracks, smooth melodies.
Might be a bit cliché for some. Not the strongest vocals.
At The End Of Paths Taken - The Cowboy Junkies
A little more mainstream than previous efforts
They're not more widely known
Absolutely Free - The Mothers of Invention
Great songs - absolutely barking
None really - except maybe slightly chaotic on "Call any vegetable"!
Oh, Inverted World - The Shins
Not one bad track, couple of their best songs to date, new style and sound
It's quite a short album
