No surprises that it kicks off with the theme (“Hey hey, we’re t The Monkees and people say we monkee around” – g̵ 7;wan, you’re singing it already!), followed by a more or less chronological canter through the rest. Remastered, it is now possible to appreciate just how good the sound was. Did that jangly guitar or the tambourines on ‘Last Train To Clarksville’ ever sound so crisp in 1966 as they do now?
