... DnB and breakbeat and thought i would give this a shot ... and after listening i was not dissapointed, it has a mix of mad instrumentals and DnB workings with some charts hits such as pieces featuring Plan B. One of the tunes (the name escapes me) has a eastern vibe to it but a very heavy beat and is addictive to say the least. These two guys have recently done an amazing mix for nekka, an up and coming nigerian artist and have started to push out a few hot singles for their next album release in early 2010. Get mo...more

I came across this album one day in HMV whilst looking for a couple of other CD's. I was aware of who chase and status were and had heard a couple of their recent songs; eastern jam /against all odds. Always wanting to find new music, I went ahead and bought this album which is pretty rare for me as usually I like to see if I like all the songs first. It cost me £7.99 which I thought was reasonable. The Cd had a good design, the case also had a sleeve on top of it, to protect it. I like it when people do this as it looks a lot better. The albums name 'more than alot' was printed in big pink and black letters all over the front and incorporated their faces into ...  Read the complete review

The London duo of Saul Milton and Will Kennard, better known as Chase & Status dropped their debut album, "More Than Alot" towards the end of 2008. The pair is most known for their work in Drum & Bass, but have expanded to other styles along this Acid House-based style of Electronica with a little Dubstep inter-worked into their stuff too. 1. "Can't Get Enough" In knowledge of what singles have been included on this album, I would have to say that this isn't the best of starts to come off this album as they could have gone much better with it all, but still choose to hold back and come with a fair soulful jam to get you ...  Read the complete review

I had never really heard of Chase n Status up until the last month or so, I first heard there name when my younger brother had returned from a night out in Manchester where he had heard one of there songs 'pieces'. He asked me on several occasions whether I had heard it and I had said no. Funnily enough last week the girlfriend had seen it in the shops for the bargain price of £6. Obviously being too quick to miss out on a bargain she bought it and brought it home with her. Now knowing that my younger brother had been banging on about this song for the last couple of weeks I thought I'd steal the CD off the girlfriend and play it in the car on the way to work. ...  Read the complete review

I heard about Chase and Status before they released their album and have since seen them perform live. It was because of what I saw that urged me to buy this album and I would urge you to do the same. I think Chase and Status are easily one of the best bands on the drum and bass scene at the moment, this is evident in some of their songs, in particular, "Eastern Jam" and "Smash TV". But, even for those not ecstatic about drum and bass, I can assure they still have some fantastic songs that you will enjoy. Without turning away drastically from drum and bass, the album, More Than ALot contains appearances from the likes of Plan B and Kano. I think this ...  Read the complete review

Impressive performances. Repetitive and tedious.

Good atmosphere, interesting to hear where it all started. Songs are dull and overly repetitive.

Consistent and excellent use of symphony with heavy metal. Less ambitious than earlier albums.
