Advantages: Some fantastic tunes

Disadvantages: couple of not so good ones

I came across this album one day in HMV whilst looking for a couple of other CD's. I was aware of who chase and status were and had heard a couple of their recent songs; eastern jam /against all odds. Always wanting to find new music, I went ahead and bought this album which is pretty rare for me as usually I like to see if I like all the songs first.

It cost me £7.99 which I thought was reasonable. The Cd had a good design, the case also had a sleeve on top of it, to protect it. I like it when people do this as it looks a lot better. The albums name 'more than alot' was printed in big pink and black letters all over the front and incorporated their faces into the print which I thought was pretty cool. It also says chase and status on the front, just so you know who it is.

In total, there are 13 songs on the album; this included a couple of singles and a lot of really good songs. I was impressed to say the least.

The track list is as follows;

1) Cant get enough :
This is a fairly fast paced song that it really catchy Drum and Bass. It is a good album opener and interesting to listen to. I like the different speeds within the song and is great to dance to. 4****


2) Music club:
This track starts off with a vocal introduction and then kicks in to some great electronic and Drum and bass. The only thing with this track is it doesn't really change much throughout the song and can be a bit repetitive. 3***

3) Against all odds:
One of the best songs on the album. This track features Kano who raps throughout the song which I liked. The tune is catchy and great to listen to. I never get tired of this track. 5*****

4) Streetlife :
This is a nice chilled out drum and bass track, good to chill out to, but not one of my favourites on the album. It makes a nice change though. 4****

5) Smash TV:
I love the introduction to this track as it builds up to a great hit of drum and bass. I like the sound effects used and the song in general is one of my faves. Brilliant live! 5*****

6) Pieces:
This is a brilliant song and features plan B. This is quite a well known one also. It features some good lyrics and it s good mix of emotion and dance together. 5*****

7) Eastern Jam:
This is joint number one favourite for me along with 'running'. I love Dubstep and this song really builds up to the drop and is a great tune. I like the ethnic feel to the song and for those that haven't heard it, it's totally not what I thought it was going to be at first. This is another well known song. 5*****

8) Foundation Skit:
This is a really short Drum and bass interval, it only lasts for about 1 minute and breaks up the album a bit. 3***

9) Take me away:
This track is brilliant live and one of their favourites I think as they are always playing it! I love the drops to this song and the mix of what seems to be fast paced drum and bass with hints of Dubstep. Great to dance to. 5*****

10) Hurt you:
Not one of my favourites and probably my least favourite track on the album really. Its just a bit too repetitive for my liking and I wasn't fond on the vocals. 2**

11) Running:
Probably THE best song on the album. I absolutely love it. I love the lyrics, the vocals the tune everything! I just think it works so well and love it when the Dubstep kicks in after a minute or so. A definite must listen to song, even if you don't buy the album! 5*****
12) Take U there:
This is quite a chilled out track for the most part, with steady drum and bass accompanying. Its okay but pretty average to listen too. 3***

13) Is it worth it?
This track has a good build up to the middle of the song when its blasts out manic electronic vibes and yes you guessed it Drum and bass. Really good song for the end of the album. 4****


Overall, I do love this album, though I can be guilty of skipping to the songs I like most, I can listen to it all the way through!
I would definalty recommend to those wanting to try something new. If not... At least listen to RUNNING! Great album by chase and status and I am glad I purchased it.
