Ideal for newbies to the Motown scene (Motown 50)

I liked the Motown songs I heard, so when this collection came out I thought it was the ideal opportunity to get loads of good songs on one CD.

The first two CDs contain classic Motown songs like I Want You Back (Jackson 5), Baby Love (Supremes) and Heard It Through the Grapevine (Marvin Gaye).

The third CD contains covers of different songs, like Stevie Wonder's cover of Light My Fire (which I really like, despite being a Doors fan) and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas' Say A Little Prayer (which doesn't really compare with the Aretha Franklin version).

The first two CDs are the best but the third is a nice bonus.

The sound quality on this CD, I've noticed, isn't as great as on some other CDs I have. I can only assume that they couldn't afford to do any remastering. This is fair enough as the CD is a bargain for the number of songs you get. It might bother diehard music experts though.

I got mine from Amazon at 7.98 which was an absolute bargain. Ideal for anyone new to the Motown scene.
