... they are barely recognisable but this really adds to the 'jumpability' (TM 2001 Missbrowneyedgirl) of the track. You haven't turned the volume down have you? Well don't! Track Three: Madskillz - Mic Chekka This track manages to mix hip-hop, rap and breakbeat in an astounding fashion. You will still be jumping around (yes, I know I do a lot of jumping). The vocals are provided by Hutch, Rasco and Planet Asia in styles reminiscent of Shaggy. Track Four: The Hip-Hop Phenomenon Contrary to it's tit...more

Premium Review Movement In Still Life - BT: Surprisingly diverse... (876 words)

Before I start, the cover of my CD looks nothing like the picture here. It's bright yellow with the silhouette of a baby. It's summery and cool! OK, rant over, now let's get on with it...;) I knew, and still know if we are being honest, very little about BT when I bought this album. I had heard and 'Godspeed' and 'Mercury and Solace' so bought the album on the strength of these two tracks plus the credibility of the people involved: Sasha, Tsunami One, DJ Rap, Hybrid and Paul Van Dyk to name a few. I was expecting a nice trace album but what I got was so much more! Movement in still life takes you through most modern dance ...  Read the complete review

I bought "Movement In Still Life" nearly a year ago now and I still listen to it. This is because it is such a cool album. The tracks are mostly chill out stuff, nice beats are mixed together with some choice lyrics to form some really good tracks. They realeased Godspeed ages ago which is not like most of the tracks on the album, I find it to be one of the worst. Their new single "Dreaming" is on it, a whole 9 minutes and it is far better than the single version. The best thing about the album is the first 6 tracks. The first track is so damm cool, it starts with some bloke going "Dude said you'd do some tracks.. i have no records ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Movement In Still Life - BT: A beautiful piece of work (254 words)

Brian Transeau never fails to deliver, and Movemenet In Still Life is yet another fantasticly diverse album suitable for inclusion in many record collections. Trance monsters like 'Mercury And Solace', combined with collaborations with Sasha and Hybrid are perfectly sequenced to provide an everlasting aural experience. The only issue I have with it is more to do with the record company - I bought this CD as soon as it was released, as I have done with all BT's other releases. Six months down the line, another version is released in the UK, with a bonus CD consisting of unreleased tracks and mixes. As a loyal fan, and as a consumer, one of the many ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Just short of classic (149 words)
by - written on 14/09/00 (Useful, 28 readings)
Rating:

Actually released in 1999, this album is a slow burning groundbreaking masterpiece that impresses with every listen. Featuring collaborations with DJ Rap, Adam Freeland, Sasha, Paul Van Dyk and Hybrid, the US-based trance musician has produced a polished piece of work. The one and only problem is that it tries to cover too many bases. After a couple of breakbeat-y tracks (Ride, with Sasha, is a standout), he moves to more familair territory. Mercury And Solace is a poignant vocal trancer, while Dreaming has a more rave-y edge to it. The last track, Satellite is also very good, but more or a soft rock anthem than anything else. The only real disappointment is Godspeed, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Movement In Still Life - BT: Excellent trance.... (155 words)

This is the lastest offering from BT, and comes in two flavours, a normal, and a Limited Edition with a bonus CD with some remixes of the tracks on the first. I managed to get the Limited Edition and am generally quite pleased with both CD's. The main album has some great tracks the biggest track being Dreaming, as it seems to be being included on nearly every mix at the moment. This also features twice on the bonus CD and those are also good remixes, different enough from the original for the listener not to get dispondent. The other tracks here on offer are great, and you will be reaching for the volume knob on Movement in Still Life, Running ...  Read the complete review

Talented progressive metalcore. Well, it's still metalcore.

Experimental black metal that isn't pompous. Less ambitious than their later releases (I've completely contradicted myself here, I know).

Highlights great songs from the longer album, with some generous extras. Hard to come by, and the 'Bright Eyes' edit gets on my pecs.
