Advantages: Beautifully sculpted soundscapes

Disadvantages: Too many versions

Brian Transeau never fails to deliver, and Movemenet In Still Life is yet another fantasticly diverse album suitable for inclusion in many record collections. Trance monsters like 'Mercury And Solace', combined with collaborations with Sasha and Hybrid are perfectly sequenced to provide an everlasting aural experience.

The only issue I have with it is more to do with the record company - I bought this CD as soon as it was released, as I have done with all BT's other releases. Six months down the line, another version is released in the UK, with a bonus CD consisting of unreleased tracks and mixes. As a loyal fan, and as a consumer, one of the many people who has supported the rise of dance acts like BT by purchasing their albums, I find it sickening to see the record companies monopolising on this. Limited Edition albums are a fine idea, but I would very much like to see two versions - one with both the original album and the mix CD, and a release which is just the mix CD, as in the case of Chicane's Chilled; at a reduced price.

To further the storm, I recently visited the USA, and found Movement In Still Life there. It has a completely different track order, and 4 very good songs unavailable anywhere else. I understand that different markets have different tastes, but this is kind of thing that makes me use Napster even more - come on guys, it's the music that matters!
