Advantages: entertaining, good sound, nice compilation of song

Mariah Carey Unplugged EP was one classic cd made, this is done during her show with MTV in the program entitled Unplugged. It was 1992, and that time she was still starting a career but she already had hits like Visions of Love, Emotions and the revival song I'll be there. Its a live performance with live bands and with back up singers.This cd is not the full length cd or the whole show cd, the songs here are already been picked, 7 songs, 28 minutes long. I think in the full length cd its continuous and much longer, but this EP cd its already been edited that's why its the longevity is less . Under Colombia Label Produced and arranged by Walter Afanasiff and Mariah herself.

The songs: In every songs she has this introductions,like why she likes the song, who sung it, what's the story behind it and what is the significant 's of the song to her life.

EMOTIONS

This is the introductory song in this mini cd which is nice, because its a fast, danceable song to start with. I like how they start it, like the choral and the piano first then Mariah will do her vocals and then the song introduction. Basically the song speaks about being in love and all the sweet feelings of being in love. Its a 4 minute song with a nice vocal power and fast beat by Mariah.


IF IT'S OVER

A slow love song originally done by Carole King, I never heard the original one but I can say Mariah's version is a nice one. Of course more high and curl notes, in short she made it in her own way, which is the hard way. This is total the opposite of the first song, its about telling or asking if the feeling is gone and if the relationship is over. More than a 3 minute song 3:47 to be exact.


SOMEDAY

She said " We like to dedicate this next song to anyone who's ever been dumped by someone you love". This is not slow sad song, a fast song that like saying to someone who dumped you, "you will regret what you did to me". Its a good song, mariah singing it and with a good back up singers. A 3 minute 56 seconds song.


VISION OF LOVE

"This is my first single ever" Mariah said. The song is just one of her many biggest hits, and she won some awards with this, it talks about being love and after dreaming and waiting for the right love, she found a real and true love. Another good classic song by her.


MAKE IT HAPPEN

At that time this is her latest single, its a fast song. It tells about being down and no one to turn to, but being strong and believing in yourself you will surpass all the pains of life. In a way this is one inspirational song, which is she is also known for.


I'LL BE THERE

A revival of a Michael Jackson or Jackson Five song, which she gave a new flavor. The vocals and the melody is far different from Michael's version, its much higher because she had to do it in a girl version. A good song and she said this is one of her favorite song.


CAN"T LET GO

The last song and she is already saying her thank you to the audience. A heartbreaker song, the letting go and the pain that a person has to bare. This is the song that I been looking for a long time, I didn't know that this is her song.



OPINION

Even if there is only 7 songs in the cd, I can say that its a complete combinations of songs, letting go, being in love, heartbreaker, inspirational and being strong, these are the songs included in this album. But because Mariah is a great artist you can help but shout for more, plus the band is playing great. Its only less than 30 minutes of live music, so its up to you if you want to buy the full length cd of this one. It is original that's why the sound is clear, you will truly enjoy the cd.

I bought it in amazon.co.uk for only 4.33 pounds, its worth the money for me. A good one for my collection.
