... heartwrenching and moody number, which does justice to the Randy Crawford original. 'You're The One I Love' is more uptempo and could work well as a dancefloor hit or on your stereo, it is a classy r and b track which showcases her smooth vocals. I also enjoyed 'Who's Loving My Baby' which takes Shola on an even more soulful trip. Worst track: 'Summer Love' could be described as somewhat cheesy. Premium Review Much Love - Shola Ama: Shola you can't be serious (196 words)

Arriving from almost nowhere and shooting to fame off the back of one single, Shola Ama was the music industry's new darling back in 1997. She had a short run of hits before disappearing to write material for other artists and her sister. On this album: The brilliant and soulful cover version of 'You Might Need Somebody' is a heartwrenching and moody number, which does justice to the Randy Crawford original. 'You're The One I Love' is more uptempo and could work well as a dancefloor hit or on your stereo, it is a classy r and b track which showcases her smooth vocals. Great Garage Vinyl's ! (112 words)

Shola Ama i think is a great singer and her songs just make great garage songs my two favorite are Shola's 'Imagine' and 'Run To Me'. I am a great fan of some of her work. As you might already know she is not very old just alittle older than britney, so she has a great career ahead of her. I think i like her songs because she acually sings them instead of just playing a beat all the way through, but i do like abit of drum 'n' bass. I hope she has a good career and brings out some new songs which will be great to get on vinyl. ...  Read the complete review

Much Love - Shola Ama: Shola much better! (114 words)
by - written on 06/12/00

Believe it or not Shola Ama is not a great many years older than Billie and Christina etc...yet she is far superior to them. I actually wasn't too keen on "You might need Somebody" but if it came on the radio I'd always sing along. It was Shola's next single "Your the one I Love" that made me run out and buy this album. Her vocals are beautiful and the smooth R and B tacks compliment it to perfection. In short this girl is fantastic and if you think Billie's really talented - apart from needing a hearing test, you should listen to this! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fairytale comes true (223 words)

Rating:

It's a classic music biz story, young girl on the Underground in London, singing along to her personal stereo is asked by the guy sitting next to her if she would like to become a star. Of course, the story ends happily ever after when the girl goes on to become one of the UKs best R&B performers. This unbelievable story actually took place, with Shola Ama in the lead role. Her singing talents were recognised when she was only 16, and within a couple of years she had released Much Love, her debut album. The first track of the album to become a single was Shola's version of "You might need somebody", a cover of a Randy Crawford track. ...  Read the complete review
