Music box was mariah careys fourth album and was released in 1993.I had never heard of her prior to this album but when I heard hero I knew she was making the sort of music I liked .Mariah has a very powerful voice and you can always tell when you hear a song of hers.In my opinion this is one of her best albums to date maybe it the fact that its full of ballads or the fact that you just wanna sing along to it or maybe just maybe its the way she sings. Mariah Carey may not be a very nice person (or at least this the impression I have been given), but she does have one very brilliant voice doesn't she?!?! Her fourth album 'Music Box' is very good. It has sadly only eleven tracks, but those eleven tracks are of very excellent quality. The album includes hits such as: "Dreamlover", "Hero", "Anytime You Need A friend", and "Without You". This is the album that really showcased Mariah to the world, with many hit singles and sold well in excess of 25 million copies. It sold 1 million copies in Australia with a population of only 10 million, so one tenth of Australia has this album. This shows Mariah more maturely, the album is ballad driven, a sign that at that time Mariah was being influenced by what the recording company classed as marketable and what would sell most.
