This works really well with the music and tone of the album. This album is rife with guitar riffs and soft steady drums that make you feel like you are on a slow train being lulled gently. A brilliant example of this is in 'Just Another'. Some songs feature steelier guitar riffs with warbling effects alongside some heavier drums, which helps lift the pace ...more

Not bad for a 26-year-old drummer turning his hand at singing and songwriting! Peter Yorn's album Musicforthemorningafter went gold in April 2002 and rightly so! This album is really lovely and I can sincerely recommend it if you like David Gray, Bruce Springsteen and Ray LaMontagne. His music is heavy on the folky guitar chords and harmonica accompaniments that give it a real 'on the road' feel. His vocals are really strong too, especially in songs like 'Strange Condition' where he shows both depth and warmth in the raspy quality of his voice. PETE YORN - MUSICFORTHEMORNINGAFTER It's a clichéd point that todays mainstream rock industry is filled with groups selling their anger at society and authority - social outcasts donning masks and erratic clothing, appealing to angst ridden teenagers fitting in with an alternative image. Making music just for the sake of the song seems to have been long forgotten, with image being just as important in today's world - not so with New Jersey singer/songwriter/part time drummer, Pete Yorn. Yorn's debut album Musicforthemorningafter displays his talent for making sleepy yet inspiring, simple yet catchy, gentle yet strong though always original ...  Read the complete review

Being dubbed both a singer songwriter and the new Ryan Adams isn't the best way to kick start your career and this goes some way to explaining why "Music For The Morning After" hasn't exactly set the world on fire over in the States. While journalists have continued to heap praise on the album, it was not until REM guitarist Peter Buck got on the bandwagon and both himself and Pete re-recorded the album track "Strange Condition" for a future release, that people really took notice. It takes several listens to "Music......." that the subtleties really start to shine and differentials between just another singer songwriter ...  Read the complete review

Superb technical musicianship, and evolving the band's distinctive sound. Many of the songs blur together.

Their most complete recording yet, a good progression of Without You I'm Nothing A couple of the singles stink bad, including Meds which was a poor opening song
