In addition, a couple of acoustic guitar style songs by the gentle-but-cool Colin Hay are featured, which is a treat as Colin has appeared on the show on a couple of occasions (notably on 'My Overkill', the first episode o...more

Premium Review Music From Scrubs - Soundtrack: Hold On Hope (396 words)
by - written on 17/06/09 (Very useful, 54 readings)
Rating:

Scrubs is an American medical comedy that has been running for eight seasons so far. Although it has a lot of black humour in it, it is essentially a sweet and positive programme, and every episode finishes off with a moral of some sort. The episodes also often finish off with a montage set to music, which is just one of the ways in which music is important in the show. If I had to describe this soundtrack CD in one word it would be 'uplifting'. It's one of those great compilations that has something for every mood and will always leave you smiling. It's also very representative of the TV programme. Like Scrubs, it has some very cheerful, fun ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Great album for Scrubs fans and laymen alike! (190 words)
by - written on 10/06/09 (Useful, 9 readings)
Rating:

Like the other reviewer said, music plays a huge part in Scrubs. I've bought other TV soundtracks before and there're always a few songs that you think "When on earth did they play that?" Not so here. The songs will bring back great memories and if you're anything like me it'll make you want to watch the episodes again! Besides that, these songs are actually pretty good in their own right. I'm a big fan of the Eels and "Fresh Feeling" is one of my favourite songs by them; similarly "New Slang" by the Shins. There's also a version of Hallelujah (originally by Leonard Cohen, made famous by Jeff Buckley) which I hadn't heard ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Music From Scrubs - Soundtrack: Scrubs up well (153 words)
by - written on 23/11/08 (Useful, 15 readings)
Rating:

Apart from the hilarious one liners, great plots and brilliant cast (my favourite's the janitor) the music in Scrubs helps to make it the entertaining programme that it is. This came out to accompany the original series of Scrubs and I think it's about time they brought out another as this is really good. For true Scrubs fans, the songs will remind you of the episode it came from and for people that aren't so obessed they are just great tracks. This soundtrack is a mix, 14 different artists conribute, but if you want to generalise, I'd say it's alternative. It includes, 'Superman' the brilliant theme tune by Lazlo Bane, great tracks from Eels, The Shins and Shawn Mullins ...  Read the complete review

Andrew Strong, a startling performance. To many mediocre ones made it onto here.

The three classic Indy scores finally expanded, and in generaly great sound. A landmark release Poor packaging, pitch issues, little mistakes here and there, not complete

Good orchestra All the songs sound the same!

Familiar, catchy, poppy classic tunes that helped to define the 80s era. He is sometimes annoying experimental but this album does stay quite consistent throughout

Perfect music to fit the film Very dark and depressing at times

Some powerful vocals, excellent instrumental work, strong production values. A lot of the time the vocal performance lacks passion.

Suede - Suede
Energetic, sexy, vivacious, depressive, unique and interesting at the same time The ballads can be slightly annoying and formulaic

Songs In The Key Of Fuck - Midasuno
An energetic album which finely mixes the genres of rock and electronica. The vocal style of Midasuno will be off-putting for some.
