If, like most of the general public, you’re not quite up to date with your underground electronica, there’s still a good chance that you’ve heard Boards of Canada, even if you’ve never heard of them. Their mesmeric, spiralling “In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country” was used on a popular car ad last year, and gave them possibly the biggest public airing they’ll ever receive. Boards Of Canada originally published music with a small indie label called Skam and later published with Warp Records home to Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Black Dog and a host of other artists one of whom is LFO. Boards of Canada originally come from Scotland and as such their music seems to have a touch of the mythic aurora lights about it. Anyone who has seen Human Traffick and recogonized themselves in this film will love this album. Its prefect for those post club moments when you sit around and talk for hours or your with your loved one in the sack.
