This album has quickly become a favourite of mine, not least because within five minutes of putting it on I always seem to have a beer in my hand yet still somehow be managing to play airguitar. Satan-obsessed Finnish band Behexen play chuggy, old school black metal, marrying dirty, punky grooves with the evil sounding arpeggios championed by the likes of Dissection and Watain. The riffs are all extremely catchy, and whilst frequently repetitive, Behexen succeed in turning this to their advantage, with songs frequently developing around a single riff or two, slowy building up momentum before breaking into a chuggy, almost doomy midsection, all the time ...  Read the complete review
