Live Lounge
by Foxy-Lady - written on 20/04/07 (Very useful, 911 readings)
Rating:
over-produced like a lot of music today. On the whole, the talents of Various Artists are able to shine through and in many cases they’ve taken songs, injected their personality and made them their own. I can’t believe that I haven’t reviewed this album sooner. Released in October 2006 its popularity meant that it was Platinum selling by December. I just hope that Radio One aim for a repeat of this success and release a second Live Lounge album. I’m sure the content will be just as good, if not better. Radio One’s Live Lounge Available from all the usual shops and online retailers. The best offer currently from www.play.com - £8.95 with free ...

Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope - Soundtrack
by berlioz II - written on 31/10/06 (Very useful, 746 readings)
Rating:
Goodman swing band music, and how would they interpret that?”. They are scored for nine jazz musicians playing a solo trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, Fender Rhodes piano, steel drum, synthesizer and Various percussion. There are a great number of highlights in this score to even start enumerate. The “Binary Sunset” for me has always remained as one of my personal favourites with its passionate surge of the Force theme; the final action sequences of “TIE Fighter Attack” and “The Battle of Yavin” are some of the most exciting action music Williams has ever created as well as the more intimate moments in “Tales of a Jedi Knight/Learn About the Force” which provides the music ...

Jaws - Soundtrack
by berlioz II - written on 27/10/06 (Very useful, 255 readings)
Rating:
---------------------- What you behold here is the first edition in a little series I have devised to chart out the most important film scores from composer John Williams’ Golden Age of scoring, ranging from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s and identified by the abreviation WGA. There will be some rarities included among the more easily obtainable releases (which I shall clearly note whenever appropriate), but in the interest of completism are a natural (and at times REALLY important) part of Williams’ accomplishments and should be included. Among the ones not to be found include among others The Fury (so rare that even I don’t have it), Dracula, 1941, Jaws 2 and Monsignor, not due to ...
