Advantages: Totally brings down the house
Disadvantages: do they get paid to swear
I am a huge rap fan and have accumulated a massive collection of C.D’s. I own most of Dr Dre’s albums, some Ice cube, Snoop Dogg Tha Last Meal, Xzibit and a few others. One of the album’s I bought recently was NWA – Greatest hits. Well being a huge Westside gangsta rap fan my collection would never be complete without some of the greatest tunes of all time. The greatest hits are the complete rap C.D. made up of a collaboration of the finest gangsta tunes ever made. These ranging from the massive number one, express yourself to the much-disputed straight outta Compton. Being an old C.D a potential buyer may be shocked that it doesn’t really correspond to Dr Dre’s newer music, it doesn’t contain a million and one rappers just a collection of the original, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy E, MC Ren and Yella. The album is produced by ruthless records, not familiar to the name I suppose they were linked via Eazy E who established the Group. Those people who only really like Dr Dre may not be suited to this album as it is extremely hardcore and put it this way, Dre has certainly grown up since the split of NWA. The album went double platinum in the US but hasn’t had much advertisement since crossing the pacific. The album contains previously unreleased material which makes this album such a gem. There is a great live version of compton’s in the house which sounds spectacular when the hifi you are listening on is pumped up. Obvious inclusions to the album are “Express Yourself,” and “Straight Outta Compton.” Gangsta Gangsta also makes a deserved appearance along with I ain’t tha 1. other great tunes include, real niggaz, miles and runnin’, Fu*k tha police and bitch iz a bitch. There are a few inserts as well along with other great tracks. I would definitely recommend this album to a friend if they were a rap fan but I wouldn’t if they were not a rap fan,
however I still rate this as a great album and it has to get 90%

I'm thinking about buying this as I have 2 Dre albums, 1 Xzibit, 2 Snoop Dogg, 2 Eminem and need something more and a bit different! |
