Natty Dread is The Wailer's third album, after breaking through into the mainstream, and the first album recorded with the I-Threes, a female vocal trio that included Bob's wife, Rita Marley, along with Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt. The album's style is somewhere in between the commercially produced Catch a Fire and the minimal roots rock of Burnin'. The album contains the original, and now following the success of Legend lesser known, version of No Woman no Cry. Them Belly Full contains the Wailers trademark anger at the system and poverty that exsisits on the streets of Kingston. For many people Bob Marley is reggae, this is quite understandable - thanks to shrewd label decisions he always appealed to rock audiences - though this state of affairs can lead to a narrow view of Marley's close to twenty years in music. I am again amazed at the lack of opinion on this album. I'm a little new to this - but no opinions on Natty Dread?! Has the world gone mad? Well, fear not for your sanity for I am here to write the wrongs (excuse the pun) and give you a little taste of an album that if you don't own, you need to be deaf or dead. Abigail II - King Diamond
Some great heavy metal riffs, band on top form.
Doesn't make as much of an impact as the first album.
'98 Live Meltdown - Judas Priest
The Ripper does an adequate job filling in for Halford.
Seventies material now sounds out of place.
A Passion Play - Jethro Tull
Classic Rock - 2003
Crazeology - Charlie Parker
It's Charlie Parker.
Not enough.
Defenders Of The Faith - Judas Priest
More great eighties heavy metal.
Nothing new after 'Screaming for Vengeance.'
Demolition - Judas Priest
One or two memorable moments, Owens isn't a bad singer.
Slow and tedious, lacks any originality.
Even If It Kills Me - Motion City Soundtrack
A great mix of fast paced catchy songs and slower ballads
None
Ghost Opera - Kamelot
Violin used well in numerous songs, and band crawls out of the gloom of the previous album.
Songs don't stand out, and offer very little.
I Walk Among You - Iced Earth
The new song is pretty good, if nothing we haven't heard before.
Pointless overdubs of average songs with a copycat singer.
Jugulator - Judas Priest
Some effective heavy metal, with a more modern approach.
Frequently dull.
