first album recorded with the I-Threes (Natty Dread +1 - Bob Marley & The Wailers)
Member Name: Luddite78
Advantages: Them Belly Full Disadvantages: none Natty Dread is The Wailer's third album, after breaking through into the mainstream, and the first album recorded with the I-Threes, a female vocal trio that included Bob's wife, Rita Marley, along with Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt. The album's style is somewhere in between the commercially produced Catch a Fire and the minimal roots rock of Burnin'. The album contains the original, and now following the success of Legend lesser known, version of No Woman no Cry. Them Belly Full contains the Wailers trademark anger at the system and poverty that exsisits on the streets of Kingston. Rebel Music talks of the time Bob Marley was stopped by a police roadblock at 3am and forced to give up his 'little herb stalk' Praise to Rastafarianism follows in So Jah She and Natty Dread.is a simple but catchy tune credited to Rita Marley. The final song Revolution is typical Bob Marley anger at the state of the world in the hands of corrupt leaders. Summary: Excellent |
