It has been pointed out that the lyrics to the Wonderstuff's "Size of a Cow", one of the most memorable singles from this album, are meaningless. Oh come on - take a look at their official website, thewonderstuff.com, and you'll see that meaningless just doesn't come close to the now-sadly-demised 'stuffies. But who cares? The Wonderstuff did make some important points in many of their songs, but "Never Loved Elvis" had a far more important function to fulfil than anaemic political preaching. The Wonderstuff was happy music. There's no other way to describe it to anyone who hasn't drunk a little too much and moshed to ... Read the complete review

An excellent album that is a must for every one who ever sung along to the catchy late eighties and early nineties singles. The singles on this album, Size of a Cow, Welcome to the Cheap Seats, Sleep Alone are not the strongest on this album though. From the start of the album it sets its standards high. Mission Drive opens the disc and is probably one of the best tracks they recorded. If you get the chance see it live now that the boys are playing together again. The perfect live song. The album continues with a rollercoaster of songs that keep you hooked to the end. Play attacks you from all angles, Donation makes you think, smile ... Read the complete review

This is a truly great album, one of those rare albums, which, whilst capturing the music of the time, it also gets better as it progresses. There are only two tracks on this CD which could be classed as album fillers, the track listing being: 1. Mission Drive 8. Inertia 2. Play 9. Maybe 3. False Start 10. Grotesque 4. Welcome To The Cheap Seats 11. Here Comes Everyone 5. Size Of A Cow, The 12. Caught In My Shadow 6. Sleep Alone 13. 38 Line Poem 7. Donation The album starts off with the catchy "Mission Drive", a great ... Read the complete review

You have to. You can't listen to this sitting down, you have to get up and dance around like a crazed lunatic. You may start sitting down but believe me you will feel the urge to dance all the way throughout this album. A mad blend of cathy tunes and daft accompanying lyrics (just look at the title) The Wonder Stuff will have you humming their tunes incesantly all day after even a brief exposure to this album. A good buy. ... Read the complete review
