Probably the best known album, by the best known band ever, never mind the bollocks is the album that contains such classic as God Save The Queen, which became popular when the played the track under London Bridge on the jubilee and Sid Vicious was arrested. This band brought about a huge change in the ?people?s? opinion of the world, This anti fascist track was designed to put down the Queen and all of her supporters - it worked! It caused a huge public outrage, so much so that the Sex Pistols were banned from playing live in England, but this didn?t stop Sid and the band, it only provoked them to be more outrageous than ever before.
Anarchy In The U.K. also provided the public with a reason to hate the Pistols. And this was the song that really put the divider between people, generally between the younger and older generations, the younger on the side of the Pistols, and those on the side of etiquette and other rules that society forces upon us.
The Sex Pistols provided a sound example of how to split an entire nation, by protest, through the media.
The Sex Pistols told a simple, momentous truth, but simultaneously might have obliterated the opportunity for a pop group to develop the idea of "telling it like it is" with such force ever again.
