You have to admire this man for having the balls to release an entire album of novelty pop. He might have been a two hit wonder in the UK, yet he manages to keep having hits in Austria. Who is he? Gerry Friedle is a DJ and singer, he produces his own brand of infectious europop. On this album: 'Hey Baby' was a number hit across Europe and is on here, a cover version but with a joyous singalong chorus that had people going 'Ooh Aah' up and down the country when it was released. 'Do Wah Diddy' was much in the same mould, an old track redone with chanty bits and DJ Otzi's own grating rapping over the top of a dance beat. After the ... Read the complete review

It was the song of last summer, DJ Otzi's Hey Baby which came from absoloutly nowhere to top the charts for two weeks. Nothing could match the success of that single, including this album. The album is remarkably German, with typical German drinking songs, reminding you of the Oktoberfest which takes place every year. The two singles taken from the album are Do Wah Diddy (a cover of the old Manfred Man track) and Hey Baby, which was origional used in Dirty Dancing.
