Advantages: A fantastically fun album of pop punk.

Disadvantages: If you don't like pop punk you'll probably hate this.

'New Found Glory' is the self-titled second album from the great pop punk band that is New Found Glory. 'New Found Glory' is an album which contains some of my favourite New Found Glory songs of all time and never do I tire of listening to this one. The album was released in the year 2000 through Drive-Thru Records, it contains twelve tracks and this therefore provides for 36 minutes of music. It's packed full of fun and never is there a dull moment here as all five members of New Found Glory thrash through this album with great energy and enthusiasm.

In terms of highlights here then you need look no further than 'Better off Dead', 'Dressed to Kill', 'Hit or Miss' and 'Ballad for the Lost Romantics'. All four of these tracks are just absolutely fantastic, 'Dressed to Kill' is my favourite of the lot however and is I feel one of the finest tracks that New Found Glory has ever written as a band. This track just seems to have it all; lyrically its brilliant, the melody is absolutely spot on, and the chorus is one of the bands absolute best. There's some absolutely striking guitar work here as well, the guitar sound present in the music of New Found Glory has always been excellent and throughout this album some great guitar riffs always are showcased.

The bands sound is vocally phenomenal here; there's such passion in the performance and this is something that is absolutely excellent to hear. When you compare the bands vocals here to those found on first album 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' the difference is just absolutely unbelievable. The bands vocal sound matured so much here, it was a great progression for New Found Glory and due to the increased excellence of the vocal performance the sound created by the band here is far more impressive than ever before.

The pop punk sound of the band is here extremely fun, there's a heavier edge at times with the instrumental sound but vocally the music always is incredibly light and fluffy. All twelve of these tracks are extremely radio friendly and the structure of every track present here is just absolutely excellent. The bands members are actually all fans of hardcore punk music and this would explain the more hard hitting instrumental tendencies of New Found Glory; never is the instrumental side of things too hard and heavy however and you certainly won't find any straight up hardcore punk present here.

'New Found Glory' is a great album and if you like your pop punk fun and fluffy then I'd most definitely recommend investing in this album from the band. So many strong pop punk tracks feature here and both vocally and instrumentally also the bands sound truly is excellent. If I was to recommend two tracks to download from this album then I'd go for 'Dressed to Kill' and 'Hit or Miss'; both are strong tracks and I fail to find fault with either. 'New Found Glory' is an album that I personally thoroughly enjoy listening to and I therefore highly recommend that you listen to it also.

Summary: 'New Found Glory' is a pop punk album which is well worth owning.
