The Elvie Presley specialist label FTD really is a godsend to really obsessive Elvis fans. In addition to releasing new versions of the original albums with lots of alternate takes on them, the label have over the years released a good number of live recordings of Elvis shows from the 1970s. Elvis appeared a lot on stage both in residencies at the Las Vegas Hilton, but also on tours and in personal appearances around the USA. He performed over 1000 times so although FTD have released lots of shows, there are many many more still to come.

This particular release is a 2 disc set documenting the performance on New Years Eve 1976 in Pittsburgh. Unlike the other live recordings the label have released, this is a recording done by a member of the audience (the others are soundboard recordings). This means that the audio quality is slightly below what aficionados of the label have come to expect, but it is excellent compared to many of the bootleg audience recordings which have come to light over the years.
