Advantages: "It's Late"

Disadvantages: Pretty boring album, nothing outstanding

Just when you think Queen are producing the best music of their career they released this heap of trash. I am sad to say that this is one of Queen's much poorer albums. It starts off with two songs from the Greatest Hits, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" these songs are quite good when comparing them to the rest of the album. "We Will Rock You" is a well established Queen song that was played live at many of their concert. It has a good guitar solo in the middle of it as well. "We are the Champions" is also very famous, played at many sports events when the team have won the game. This song has some good lyrics.

Once them tracks have finished though, you'll find yourself pressing the fast-forward button to skip to the next track quite often. "Sheer Heart Attack" is heavy but I think it's noise, while "All Dead, All Dead" is depressing and boring. Queen appear to have gone through a bad spell on this album in my view and maybe were on the verge of loosing the plot. Perhaps this is a bit harsh, but one would expect a lot after their previous 2 albums, A Night at the Opera, and A Day At The Races, which for me were outstanding.

The album picks up a bit with "Spread Your Wings" and "Fight From The Inside". "Fight From the Inside" is a good song which sounds more like Queen, again it is a more heavy song. I feel "Get Down Make Love" is more a live song, and on this album it's shorter and not quite as good. The sound effects on this version are very average, and its simply not a patch on them live version.

We finally get to the best song, "It's Late", maybe a feel for how the album should have sounded all the way through. The album finishes poorly with "My Melancholy Blues". I would give this album 4 out of 10, but "It's Late" as well as "Fight From The Inside" give the album a boost and I think that would be a bit harsh. 5 out of 10...Only a true fan would buy this album.
