... such as accordians, harmonica and horns. A big first for the band is the inclusion of the track "Good Riddance" a soft acoustic guitar song that was met with different views when the album came out. Some people did not like the fact that Green Day, considered one of the top punk rock bands had written a song that you mum would like, a song that could be peoples "prom song" as Tre said. Overall, this is a brillant album as usual by Green Day, although I have to say that being a fan. Some of the best s...more

Premium Review Nimrod - Green Day: An Army Of One Plus Two (1162 words)

As they are probably one of the forerunners in the Ska rock scene I thought it only fair that my next op be on Green Day. Probably the first band in this musical genre I got into and of course they are very much the trendsetters for all the other bands that have followed. The bad are made up of; Billie Joe; Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica Mike Drint; Bass, Vocals Tre Cool; Drums, Bongo?s, Tambourine. With 18 tracks the album times in at just under the 50-minute mark so you get your money?s worth out of the tracks. The first track ?Nice Guys Finish Last? starts with a quick drum beat and loud guitars in true punk/rock/SKA style. Its ...  Read the complete review

Green Day - Nimrod This opinion is being written while I am listening to the album in question, so I can give an honest up to date opinion of an album I used to love (and may still do, I can not be sure yet...). I have asterisked all the swearwords because I can't remember dooyoo's policy on such phrasing ;). So, here goes... Track One (Nice Guys Finish Last) has a very cool, fast beginning, on guitar. The lyrics are about how, if you are a nice, sympathetic person, you will lose out. An example of this: #You feel washed up like p**s gone down the drain. This could be an example of how Billie Joe actually feels, because he certainly puts out ...  Read the complete review

Nimrod - Green Day: Heavy side of Green Day (98 words)
by - written on 07/07/00

My second favourite album by Green Day. Nimrod really does live up to the high standards of dookie. Nimrod is alot heavier in that it has more rocky tunes with heavy choruses. Green Day have used some extra instruments in this album, with the odd snipet of Billie-Joe playing the Harmonica adn the horns in "King for a Day" make this very Punk Rock. My favourite tunes are "Hithin a Ride" and "The Grouch" because they have great individual tunes to them. This is another must buy that Green Day have produced. ...  Read the complete review

Being a huge music fan, I thought it was about time to write my first music opinion, and it's about one of my favorite albums in one of my favorite genres. It's Green Day with Nimrod. Green Day’s Nimrod will go down alongside the Sex Pistols and the other greats as one of the best ever punk albums. Its popularity is immense, particularly in America, while at the same time, they have weirdly never really pierced the mainstream despite having a huge cult following in Britain. A lot of people have just refused to get into them, and I don’t see why. Saying that, they must be one of the most popular bands in any country, even if they don’t ...  Read the complete review

Well I'm a massive Green Day fan, just can't get enough of them! American Idiot is my all time favorite album and their new one is fast becoming one of my favorites to. Nimrod came out back in 1997, twelve years ago! Wow. It's a typical offering from the band, some massive tracks and some real classics. But how good is it? Well here is my opinion of each song. 1. Nice Guys Finish Last - Wonderful opening. Great lyrics and a great rythem. This song really fires the album into action perfectly. I love to have this song playing when I go running, makes me run a lot faster! 10/10 2. Hitchin' A Ride - Another classis. Massive guitar riffs and ...  Read the complete review
