Green Day's best (Nimrod - Green Day)
Member Name: JohnC1977
Advantages: Some amazing tight tracks Disadvantages: Some tracks take a while to grow on you This album was released just as I was enjoying the cheap beer aspect of the Student Union, and I discovered Green Day for the first time - the Unions likes to play them a lot. I heard a few tracks not from this album "(Basket Case, etc) and decided to pick up Nimrod based on the one track I had heard so far - "Good Riddance (Time of your life)" as it captured me as quite a sober and sombre track from the guys that had come out with some other tracks that had made me jump about on a dance floor and make women stay as far away from me as possible on account of the fact they thought I was having some sort of seizure. I absolutely adored the album from start to finish - "Good Riddance" still probably being my favourite track on the album but all the others being excellent enough to stand up to subsequent listens. I think this was a high point for Green Day, one they nearly reached again with the phenomenal "American Idiot" album. Some songs are instant classics on Nimrod and some are growers but I never skip past a track, which is a good sign. Summary: If you haven't heard it pick it up |
