Advantages: Beautiful, female vocal-led songs
Disadvantages: If you're spliffing, you'll fall asleep?
I picked this album up from a friend who had it in the US, where it has been out a while. I became aware of Dido as many will, through the Eminem track, which uses Thank You at the start. I could not believe such good vocals were added to such crap! So my mate told me about Dido, and it's great to say that the whole of No Angel is as good. Dido has received not unfair comparison with Beth Orton etc; it’s that sort of style. The LP starts with Here With Me, quite a similarly beautiful tune like Thank you. It will ease everyone nicely into No Angel. It has to be said that the theme stays roughly the same all through. However some nice, minimal beats and acoustics back sometimes quite spiteful lyrics. The only less than gorgeous track is the last, whose tacky 4/4 beats try something why to my ears, just lessens the effect of the song. If you like chilled female vocals and thought the second Orton album was disappointing, you will fall for No Angel's charms.
